Begin with a specific moment
Talking about yourself does not require finding the right name for an emotion straight away. You might describe a conversation, a morning or a situation at work.
Explaining what happened, what you thought and what stayed with you gives the discussion a starting point. There is no perfect wording.
Give yourself time to find words
You can say “I do not know how to explain it” or ask for a moment to think. A pause can simply be time to work out what you want to express.
If useful, bring a few words written down beforehand. They are reminders, not an agenda you must follow.
Talk about what feels hard to say
You can mention that a subject feels uncomfortable without giving every detail immediately. Explain what makes that conversation difficult for you.
Ask how you might approach it and describe wording or ways of asking questions that feel more comfortable. The conversation can include how you communicate together.
